Commack Flag Football Rules
Get in the Know
Offense
1. 8 players on the field at one time
2. Shortened field: 25 x 60 yards
3. Two Halves, 25 minute running clock
4. 10 minute halftime
5. Teams start on the 10 yard line
6. 4 offensive downs to get a first down
7. First Downs every 20 yards
8. Shirts must be tucked in
9. No Holding a player to secure a flag
10. Change of possession, teams starts back at the 10 yard line
11. Quarterback can run outside the Tackles
12. 5 Men on the line of Scrimmage
13. Arms fully extended when blocking
14. Ends and running backs eligible to receive
15. No more than two-hut count
16. No Fumbles
Defense
1. Front line: 2 tackles, 2 ends
2. Backfield: 3linebackers, 1 safety
3. Linemen must be “head-up” on offensive linemen
4. Only front line is allowed to rush(2 tackles and 2 ends)
5. No head up on the center
6. No “shooting the gaps”. Initial contact must be made straight ahead.
7. No Blitzing
8. No holding jerseys or pants to try and retrieve a flag
9. No fumbles
Coaches
This system has been successful in the past. Please be aware of younger/smaller children lined up against bigger/older children. A little roughness is inherit in any football, but be aware to keep control at all times. Absolutely, no fighting or illegal play.
